About the Trail

Mount Bruce is located in the Karijini National Park and allows great opportunities to view the surrounding Hamersley Range and Marandoo mining operations. The Aboriginal name for Mount Bruce is Punurrunha. At 1,234 metres high, it is Western Australia’s second tallest peak.

Located on the Mountain are a number of walks of varying difficulties. The Mount Bruce Summit track is approximately 10 kilometres in length with 450 metres change in altitude. The track starts relatively easy but becomes more difficult once past the Marandoo Mine site. You should use the early morning hours to take the route that leads up the western face of the mountain, past Marandoo View. This challenging walk will reward you with spectacular views of the landscape.
