Mt Bruce Summit, Karijini NP

Need to Know

  • Time

    6 hours return, depending on fitness level
  • Distance

    10 kilometres return from the car park to the summit
  • Trail Start

    Mt Bruce Carpark in Karijini National Park, a 2 hour drive from Newman which is 1200km north of Perth
  • Degree of Difficulty

     Grade 5 - Very experienced bushwalkers with specialised skills, including navigation and emergency first aid. Tracks are likely to be very rough, very steep and unmarked. Walks may be more than 20km.

    This walk is not for the faint-hearted. Some parts of walk trail are class 5 and require high level of fitness and experience

  • What to Pack?

    Take plenty of drinking water and sun protection. Please remember, Karijini National Park's climate can be best described as tropical semi-desert, and hence temperatures in summer are frequently topping 40 degrees Celsius.

  • Best Time of the Year

    In hotter months, it is best to climb during the cooler parts of the day. The ideal times to visit the park are late autumn, winter and early spring.
