While Mount Barker may be a small community, this wine-growing region is vast and incredibly welcoming. The launch yesterday was fantastic and each winery had something unique from the other, whether it was their wine varieties, beautiful local produce, different views or art/craft displays. What was similar however, was the big hearted, warm welcomes from each of these, mostly family-owned and operated, vineyards. I am really looking forward to revisiting on the March long weekend for their annual GRAZE Mount Barker event. Such quality wines paired beautifully with good food.

The Mount Barker Wine & Food Trail is really top class. I was fortunate enough to attend the launch of the trail yesterday. The quality and variety of the wines offered is excellent (and educational - I sampled some varieties I had never even heard of!) and the food was yummy - I especially enjoyed the tapas style food at Gilberts - it was delicious! But what makes this trail really special is the passion that these winery families share; they have clearly invested their hearts as well as their labour and money into their wineries. Oh and the settings of the wineries are pretty as a picture too! I have no hesitation in rating this trail as 5 star.

The Mount Barker Wine & Food Trail is a MUST for those that love fantastic food and amazing, award wining wines, coupled with a rare and invaluable insight into Mount Barker wines. Having experienced the trail first hand at yesterday's launch I could not recommend and endorse this experience highly enough. Absolutely recommended!
