Kings Park and Botanic Garden is Perth’s premier tourist attraction. Tracks and trails crisscross the 40 hectare site and range from wheelchair accessible to sandy rough tracks. Some formal walk trails, such as the Law Walk, are self-guided whilst others can be experienced, at no charge, on a fun and informative guided walk with a Kings Park volunteer guide: https://www.kingsparkguides.com.au/join-our-guided-walks/

Law Walk begins to the right of the State War Memorial (when facing the river), via a paved path (that is steep in places) along the edge of the 103 metre high Mt Eliza escarpment to the Dryandra lookout which offers views of Matilda Bay. The return walk is on a sandy track through a section of bushland which loops back to rejoin the original paved path. The walk carries on to the Lotterywest Federation Walkway, a glass bridge in the tree canopy of the Botanic Garden, providing spectacular views of the city skyline and Swan and Canning rivers. The walkway is open daily 9am - 5pm, and entry is free (gold coin donations can be placed in the box).

Signs identifying key plants are along the route together with interpretive panels giving interesting facts and stories related to plant features and, where relevant, Indigenous significance.

Walks in Kings Park and Botanic Garden offer a wonderful insight into the special Western Australian environment, providing one of the best nature and wildlife experiences possible in the Perth City area.

Trail maps and walk brochures can be obtained from the Kings Park Visitor Information Centre which is staffed by volunteer Guides every day of the year (except Christmas Day) between 9.30 am to 4.00pm.

Delightful walk with the first section easily accessible along the cliff line, passing curated garden beds with impressive views over Perth city, the Swan Estuary and its surrounds. With the second section, less formed but equally as enjoyable, winding through the bush passed an array of wildflowers!

This walk really does take in the best of both worlds with manicured gardens meeting the natural bush.
