About Captain Fawcett Track, Dwellingup to Quindanning
This 105km 4WD track starts from Nanga Mill in Lane Poole Reserve, Dwellingup and ends at the historic Quindanning Hotel. It is for day use only and takes around four hours to complete. The track is currently rated 'difficult' - suitable for medium to high clearance vehicles with dual range and all terrain tyres, for drivers with reasonable experience or 4WD training, travelling in groups of vehicles.
Much of it runs along old rail embankments, where trains once hauled timber from the forests. There are picnic places along the way but no campsites. The track is not designated as one way and is wide enough in places for cautious passing.

Did this trail yesterday, not a lot of water around, was pretty easy the whole way, definitely needs a bit of clearance in some areas

Very nice trail, done in November, i.e. in dry conditions.
The first 36 km are the real track, then just gravel road. Very nice sections in the forest next to the Murray River with a few spots where stop and enjoy the landscape.
Not too challenging when mud is not there, just need a bit of clearance (not for AWD vehicles).
Definitely worth to drive in convoy between May and September.
Trails are free and bring so many benefits to our community by providing opportunities to have fun, get fit, socialise, explore and challenge yourself. But they also have to be managed and maintained which only is made possible through terrific sponsors, donations and/or volunteering.
