The Ten Mile Brook Trail starts in the Rotary Park near "Old Kate", a preserved steam engine at the northern edge of Margaret River. Much of the trail follows old timber tramway formations up the river to the Rusden picnic site at Ten Mile Brook Dam.

The 15 kilometre return trail is a combination of compacted earth and coarse gravel suitable for bikes.

A bridge over the weir allows safer access across when the river is in full flow. When you arrive at the bridge you can return to the picnic ground along this path if you choose.

The rest of this trail follows the meandering river with some wonderfull views and scenery along the way.

This trail was absolutely beautiful up to the 2.2km mark when we came across a sign to say the trail was closed from Sept 2017 until July 2018. No other warnings on any other website we checked before driving the couple of hours to arrive there. We were disappointed to say the least. We went to the local Tourist bureau which pointed us on another trail and then we had a lovely lunch, making the day of it as much as possible. . We will definitely be back in 2018 to walk the whole trail.

I found this trail most beautiful in the cooler winter months as the bush really becomes a vibrant green. Either end of the trail has ample carparking facilities though i perfer to start/finish my walk or ride at the Rotary Car park, because the Hairy Marron bike cafe is there for coffee afterwards. The trail is easy with a few rocky/gravel inclines. It is a lovely half day walk.
